The Scholarship Award is valued at $50,000 dollars per year for three years during doctoral studies
The selection criteria of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship Program for International Students are based on leadership skill, research potential, and academic merit. Up to 166, Vanier CGS scholarships are awarded yearly to eligible students. The Funding for Vanier Scholarship 2022 is usable for three years only.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Permanent citizens of Canada, Canadian residents, and Overseas citizens can apply for CGS
- A applicant must be nominated by the only one university which must be receiving the Vainer CGS universities quota.
- An applicant must be pursuing the first PhD program.
- An applicant must not be receiving any fellowship or scholarship from CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC to undertake or complete a doctoral degree.
